Keep the daylight-saving rule explicit.

Does New York always use EDT?

No. It uses EDT during daylight saving and EST in winter. In 2026, the clock changes on March 8 and November 1. This page checks the selected date; it is not a fixed UTC−04:00 converter for every date.

What happens to skipped or repeated hours?

March 8, 2026 at 02:30 in New York does not exist. Choose a valid time such as 03:30. November 1 at 01:30 happens twice: choose the first occurrence (EDT) or second (EST) before copying. The dates and offsets stay in the result.

What if I start with India time?

Open the India-to-Eastern converter, enter the India date, and select New York local time. It uses the Eastern offset at that moment.

How do I share the exact conversion?

Copy result includes both dates and offsets. Copy share link includes the date, time, direction, rule and any repeated-hour choice. Anyone with the link can read these settings. It does not book a meeting.
